Christmas shows

I'm practicing for some upcoming shows. This week I have two shows with the Good Girls with Bad intentions. That's my group with Lisa Morales & Robyn Ludwick. Tomorrow, Tues 12/10/13 we are playing LIVE on KNBT as guests on the radio show called "Roots & Branches of Americana" hosted by Texas music legend, Ray Wylie Hubbard. It's broadcast live from the Tavern in the Gruene bar in New Braunfels, TX. Then Wednesday we'll be in San Antonio for the Toys for Tots benefit happening at Sam's Burger Joint. I used to participate in the Toys for Tots benefits that Lisa Morales would host at Casbeers. Today Lisa told me that Barbara Wolfe of Casbeers passed away. That is such sad news. Barbara was young, slim, pretty and always had a smile. She will be missed and we will hold her in our hearts while we sing at the San Antonio show on Wed night. I will be praying for her husband Steve Silbas, that he have peace & strength throughout the holidays & onward.
Beyond those two shows this week, I am preparing for a California trip 12-16. I have a private show in Burbank on Fri & a show with my mom-in-law's choir on sat 12-14. It I an annual christmas shoo that her Sweet Adeline chapter puts on. This is a huge choir if women that sing in barber shop harmony "quartet" type parts but there are about 60 members! They compete nationally and have a lot of fun together. I've had to opportunity to get to know many if the members over the years and they are all great women- especially my mom-in-law. (& I'm not just saying that.) She is truly a super cool lady. Every year, my son participates in the children's choir portion of the show. (Mostly made up of choir members grandchildren). This year not only will he be in te children's choir but he will also perform with me. I am the special guest performer & will showcase with a mini concert somewhere in the Xmas show. I'll do a few original Xmas songs including a new one that I wrote with my son for us to perform together! It will be the first time he's sung with me onstage since he was about 3. I'm very excited & it's such a sweet song! I will also get him to sing it with me at the Armadillo Christmas bazaar on Dec 21 at noon.  Don't know if I can have him appear briefly at the State Theatre gig the evening of the 21. I'll find out. The show will feature my favorite Austin singers! Ginger Leigh, who is dynamic and fabulous, Patrice Pike, who is intense & powerful, Wendy Colonna, who is sultry & sensuous, Hedda Layne- I have only seen her once but he blew me away! Can't wait to check her again & get to know her. That's going to be an amazing show!
So much fun! Tree is up! Wreath on the door. Gonna have to get my shopping on soon! http://youtu.be/cxyiC2Lungo
It's "Christmas in Austin"...no place on earth that I'd rather be than spinning under the Zilker Tree.
